Getting Around in Freehand

   Although it does not matter what measurement unit we work with, you probably want to reset the unit from points to pixels. In PhotoShop, you reset the value by double clicking on the ruler or going into the preferences. With Freehand, you can set the basic unit in the bottom status bar.




   Even though there is a zoom tool, you can also set the magnification range in the bottom status bar. This becomes very helpful. When using Freehand, you occasionally lose the page. It is not difficult to accidentally drag a tool so that you can no longer find the graphic you were working on. Freehand has a large work area to enable multi-page layouts. When this happens, go to the status bar area and select Fit Page. You may find Fit Selection helpful as well.
